It can be a daunting prospect becoming a parent. During your pregnancy, you will have time to think about your future as a parent and to consider some options for yourself and your baby, including decisions about the birth and about feeding your baby.

Free antenatal classes for first time pregnant women

Bump and Beyond

Offer free antenatal classes to first time parents, or those with a gap of greater than five years since their last baby, across East Sussex as part of the Early Help 0 to 19 service. Classes are run by qualified Midwives, Health Visitors and Community Nursery Nurses.

We are currently offering both evening and day classes and actively encourage dads/partners/non-birthing parents to attend.

Classes include information on:

  • Labour
  • When labour doesn’t go to plan
  • Pain relief
  • Building a relationship with your baby and communication
  • Safer sleep
  • Bathing your baby
  • Feeding
  • Mental health and emotional well being
