On commencing your post you will receive an induction by the hospital as well as in the ophthalmology departments.
You will participate in an on-call rota where the junior doctor is first on-call. A designated consultant will always be available for advice and assistance
All trainee rotas comply with the European working time directive.

- Monday 8-9am (PG) – Curriculum based teaching and journal club
- Thursday 1-2pm (PTG) – Problem based learning session
- Friday pm – Postgraduate teaching session at Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton

- Grand Rounds
Eastbourne DGH
Local training sessions:
- Wednesday 1-2pm – departmental teaching
- Friday 8-9am – curriculum based teaching (IMJW)
- Friday pm – Postgraduate teaching session – Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton
- Regional training days

- Grand round presentations
- Tuesday 8.15-9am – medical retina and fluorescein angiography conference
- Tuesday 1-2pm – journal club
