Services provided by the Sexual Health Team are divided into two main areas:
- Genito-urinary medicine (GUM) which focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, screening and vaccination for transmissible hepatitis viruses (A and B) and as well as screening for hepatitis C virus
- Contraceptive/family planning services for all ages include health promotion, advice and provision of contraception as well as consultation for pregnancy terminations
The department also provides sexual dysfunction counselling services and specific clinics for young people for Chlamydia screening.
