Covid-19 Vaccination Programme for members of the public

The NHS in Sussex continues to make good progress with the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccination programme.

This is the largest vaccination programme ever undertaken by the NHS and it will take time to get it to everyone. The pace of progress depends to a large extent on the availability and supply of the vaccine.

As the vaccine is rolled out there are three important messages for the public:

  1. The NHS will contact you when it’s your turn. Services are very busy providing care and rolling out the vaccine, so please wait to be contacted.
  2. Please act on your invite when it comes.
  3. The vaccine is one of our best defences against COVID-19 but for now it is essential that we do all we can to stop the spread of the virus. Adhering to the current restrictions and remembering hands, face and space will save lives and help the NHS.

In Sussex, the vaccine is currently available from a wide number of GP-led local vaccination services and hospital hubs. New sites are added regularly as further vaccine supplies become available. The vaccine is also being delivered in care homes for older people.

Wait to be contacted

The NHS will let you know when it’s your turn to have the vaccine. It’s important not to contact the NHS for a vaccination before then.
