Men’s Health

Supporting members of staff at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust

Men’s MOT’s are 20 minute appointments to check blood pressure, BMI and weight. Questions are asked regarding lifestyle, diet and exercise and mental wellbeing.

Information is given with results and tips of areas to work on. Sometimes the team will contact a GP for blood pressure checks and further advice, as well as resources with hints and tips on how to make small lifestyle changes.

Contact the Staff Engagement and Wellbeing team to book a Men’s MOT slot for your team.

Man v Fat

Colleagues at One You East Sussex have set up a football league, to help men get fit and lose weight. They have two established leagues running in Eastbourne and Bexhill with a third due to start in Falmer. MAN v FAT is a weight-loss football league. A national initiative, the 16-week, 6 a side league helps men with a BMI of 27.5+ to lose weight, get fit and make friends.

Players are weighed each week before the match, and if two team members have lost weight they ‘earn’ a goal before they’ve even set foot on the pitch. Over 180 men have joined up so far and results have been remarkable.
