You can access UpToDate via the mobile app, online with an NHS OpenAthens account or via the Trust intranet.
Downloading the UptoDate mobile app (this can be used at the hospital and at home)
To set up access you must register for an account from a PC on the ESHT network:
- Visit the Extranet > click ‘A to Z’ > select ‘U’ > click UptoDate > click Up to date search
- In UpToDate click Register > enter your details and create a username and password > click Submit Registration
- You will receive an email to inform you that you can download the UptoDate app
- Visit the app store on your mobile phone and download the Uptodate app
- Log in with your username and password
Please Note: After 90 days you will be prompted to log back into UpToDate via the Extranet (using the username and password that you will shortly create) to confirm your affiliation with East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Once you have done so your access to the UpToDate mobile app will resume.
You must register from within your hospital or organisation’s network to gain access to the mobile app and accrue CME credits. To accrue CME Revalidation Points through UpToDate usage, register by clicking My Account
It is probably best to choose ‘time based tracking’
If you already have an UpToDate username and password from a personal subscription or previous access, simply click the Log In button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Other Ways to Access UpToDate (without the app):
Trust Intranet Access to UpToDate (no username or password required)
On the Intranet home page – click A-Z and select U – then scroll down to UpToDate
(Alternatively select L and go to Library Services for a full list of links to online resources)
Remote Access to UpToDate – online access without using the app – via OpenAthens Account
Remote access is available for anyone who is entitled to an ESHT OpenAthens account. (Register for an OpenAthens account at https://openathens.nice.org.uk/)
- Go to http://www.uptodate.com/
- Click on Log In and select OpenAthens login
- Log in with your OpenAthens account details
- You can then sign in to your personal UpToDate account if you have set one up
