Pastoral Support Team

The ‘Pastoral Steering Group’ was set up in May 2017 by your Medical Education Team in response to feedback from our doctors in training.

The purpose of this group is to continue to develop pastoral support within our organisation.

Membership includes relevant staff within our trust and identified external parties who have a vested interest and passion in pastoral support (details as below).

Our aim is to ensure our trainees receive and benefit from the best wide ranging support available.

“The Trust is committed to the provision of care and support of all staff. Our role is to provide Pastoral, Spiritual and Religious care to all staff regardless of whether they have a faith or not. We can be a confidential and independent listening ear when you are finding that times are tough. We can provide help and support when it may feel difficult to approach or talk to others others. We can help with access to other support that may be available elsewhere. We would urge you to give us a call even if you aren’t sure if you need us and we can talk it through. We won’t judge, we won’t talk about faith unless you wish to, we will let you talk. To contact us call switchboard and ask for the duty Chaplain or call 8311 for the Chaplaincy Office at the Conquest or 4600 at EDGH. You would, of course, be most welcome to visit the Chaplaincy Office at either site”
