The new purpose built nursery will provide 55 places a day for children aged 4 months to 8 years whose parents work for ESHT or the NHS. It will be built using a modular construction assembled on site, at the southern end of the Conquest Hospital site towards Little Ridge Avenue, with building work commencing in March.

The new nursery will offer a fully accessible learning environment for children with enclosed outside play facilities for different age groups.

Jacquie Fuller, Acting Lead for Staff Engagement and Wellbeing said: “We are very excited to get the go ahead for our new nursery. This purpose built nursery will improve our facilities and the environment we provide care and education for the children of NHS staff.

“We are rightly very proud of the high standards of care we provide our children which has been recognised in our Ofsted report, and we will soon have brand new facilities to match those high standards.”

The nursery which prides itself on helping children achieve their potential by learning through play is rated as ‘Good’ by OFSTED in all areas, and was praised for its well qualified and well trained staff and for the excellent relationship that staff have with parents.

The nursery cares for babies from 4 months to school age, from 7am to 6pm, five days a week offering school holiday clubs for children up to 8 years old. Places at the nursery are offered to ESHT staff as a priority but are also open other NHS parents.
