Services provided by the Sexual Health Team are divided into two main areas:
- Genito-urinary medicine (GUM) which focuses on the diagnosis and
treatment of all sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV,
screening and vaccination for transmissible hepatitis viruses (A and B)
and as well as screening for hepatitis C virus.
- Contraceptive/family planning services for all ages include health
promotion, advice and provision of contraception as well as
consultation for pregnancy terminations.
The department also provides sexual dysfunction counselling services
and specific clinics for young people for Chlamydia screening.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday at the following times:
- Monday - 9.30am to 11.45am and 3.00pm to 5.00pm (under 18's walk-in).
- Tuesday - 9.30am to 11.45am.
- Wednesday - 2.00pm to 4.30pm (walk-in) and 4.30pm to 7.15pm.
- Thursday - 2.00pm to 4.30pm (walk-in) and 4.30pm to 7.15pm.
- Friday - 9.00am to 11.30am (walk-in).
In addition there are three sessions a week for HIV patients and a gay man clinic on Tuesday afternoons.
