Sixties party raises thousands for Cardiac Rehab

A fundraising event has raised £4,000 for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit at Eastbourne DGH.

The event in the form of a 60’s Party was organised by David Satchell who volunteers regularly to help our out in cardiac rehab. It featured a fashion lingerie parade, a 60’s band called Ready Steady, plus a raffle (prizes generously donated by local businesses) and a bar.

Phillippa Acton, Cardiac Rehab Specialist Sister, said: “We are so very grateful to David Satchell for raising this fantastic amount. We all had a great time at the party and we are planning to use the money to buy a smart board presentation and sound system for the cardiac rehabilitation groups that we run at the hospital.

“Our next fundraising event will be on Sunday 4th September, a Seafront Sponsored Walk starting at the Western Lawns in Eastbourne at 10.00am. Ex cardiac patients, their friends and family are invited to join us for either a two mile short walk to Holywell and back or a six mile walk to the water treatment centre and back. The proceeds are shared between the Eastbourne Cardiac Rehab Department and the British Heart Foundation”
