The Outpatients department at Eastbourne DGH took part in Elf Day, a festive fundraiser to support the Alzheimer’s Society.
Organised by the nursing staff, Elf Day included dressing as an elf, a cake sale and guess the name of the elf to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. With the kind support and generosity of colleagues and patients at Eastbourne DGH approximately £105 was raised.
Gemma Reeves, Staff Nurse said: “Behind the jingle bells and baubles there is a serious reason why we chose to get involved. Christmas can be a very lonely time for families living with dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society helps to transform lives by providing information and support to people with dementia and their carers/families. The also fund innovative research and campaign for a better quality of life for people living with dementia.”
