Women who have just become pregnant can now self-refer to our midwifery service via an on-line form on our website.
The on-line form is available here:
Once registered, a community midwife will contact the woman before her first ultra sound scan to arrange their first appointment with a midwife.
Cathy O’Callaghan Interim Head of Midwifery said: “We want all local women who have discovered they are just pregnant to self-refer into our midwifery service by going online. There is no need to go via their GP, women can now self-refer to make their first midwife appointment as soon as they know they are pregnant.
“Booking early into the service when women have just become pregnant introduces them earlier into our midwifery team and gives a midwife the opportunity to discuss their pregnancy care with them.”
