The Health Records Library at Eastbourne DGH has been completely refurbished to create a bright new office space.
The office, following the £440,000 refurbishment, now provides a better working environment for health records staff including the clinic preparation, clinical coding, two-week wait and the outpatient bookings teams.
The space was freed up following the provision of the new Health Record Library in Hailsham last year. The newly refurbished rooms are more spacious, light and modern with air conditioning. This has improved the working environment allowing many of the administration teams to work closer together, rather than being in different parts of the hospital.
Susan Fisher Deputy Health Records Manager said: “Our new area is a complete contrast to where we were working before. It is bright and spacious, so different from the dark cramped area we worked in previously.”
Because of the relocation, the department is now on the same level as goods in/out, which makes it easier to access delivery and dispatching of notes. In total there are 37 clinic preparation staff in the main room, with the partial bookings/management and clinical coding teams in adjascent areas.
