Assistant Director of Midwifery and Nursing appointed

Sarah Blanchard-Stow has started in the new role of Assistant Director of Midwifery and Nursing at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Since qualifying as a Midwife in 2000 Sarah has a gained a wide range of midwifery experience. She joins the Trust from Queens Hospital, Romford, a unit delivering around 8,000 babies a year where she was a Specialist Matron for Labour Ward, Maternity Triage and Maternity Theatre. Sarah has also worked King’s College and St George’s Hospitals in London and in the North of England from where she originates.

Sarah will oversee the Maternity and Gynaecology Service accountability for delivery of patient care, patient safety, clinical quality and governance.

Sarah Blanchard-Stow, Assistant Director of Midwifery and Nursing said: “I am very pleased to be joining a committed Midwifery and Nursing team. My priority will be to work with colleagues across East Sussex to deliver the Better Births Initiative, empowering Midwives to deliver safe, effective, high quality services for local women and their families.”
