Trust attends first Hastings Pride event

Members of staff from East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust were at the inaugural Hastings Pride event to promote the organisation as a place to work and the benefits of working at ESHT.

People also had the opportunity to sign up to join patient user groups which will help to shape and influence future decision making along with those interested in volunteering at the Trust.

The Trust’s Sexual Health Team were also present offering free chlamydia testing to people along with free condoms and dental dams. The team also encouraged people to enter their photo booth and help share the sexual health website on social media www.eastsussexsexualhealth.co.uk

Kim Novis, Head of Equality and Human Rights for ESHT said: “Celebrating the diversity of our staff and the communities we serve at Hastings first Pride was a real privilege. It was very humbling to hear such positive feedback and praise for the work our staff do – “despite the challenges your staff face, they never fail to show compassion, discretion and care; I dread having to attend hospital for fear of being treated differently, living outside the area I would travel miles to be treated at the Conquest Hospital, your staff are amazing”. I couldn’t agree more, I am truly proud of all our staff for their commitment to make ESHT an inclusive employer and healthcare provider and thank them all for all they do.”
