New Orthopaedic outpatients department and fracture clinic opens at Conquest Hospital

A new £500,000 Orthopaedic Outpatients department and Fracture clinic has opened at Conquest Hospital. The new clinic area provides patients and staff with more space and helps to improve the privacy and dignity of patients.

The new area is light and airy with air conditioning. It has 10 consulting rooms, a bigger plaster room with an examination room, two waiting areas, a new reception area along with disabled toilet and baby changing facilities.

Matron Trudi Thomson said: “This new clinic area is far more spacious than our previous area offering patients a better experience. With our 10 new individual consulting rooms we are able to offer patients greater privacy and dignity.”

The area of the hospital vacated by the Orthopaedic Outpatients department and Fracture clinic will be used to extend the Emergency Department.
