Local MP, Stephen Lloyd has visited the Emergency Department at Eastbourne DGH to meet staff and see the work of the unit.
Eastbourne and Willingdon MP, Stephen Lloyd said: “It was impressive to see the machine that our DGH Accident and Emergency Department is. Having to deal sometimes, suddenly, with an influx of patients the team have to be able to respond quickly, efficiently and with kindness. Attributes that shine through from our A&E department.”
Over 1,000 people at week attend the Emergency Department at Eastbourne DGH with 55,558 attending in the year 2016/17.
Emma Paton Deputy Head of Nursing said: “We were pleased to show Mr Lloyd around the Emergency Department and for him to speak to the dedicated, hardworking team we have here.”
Building work, costing £850,000, has recently started within the Emergency Department at Eastbourne DGH. The building work includes additional consulting rooms along with an improved patient waiting area and improvements to the reception area. The work is due to be completed in November.
Whilst the building work is underway there is a temporary waiting area and the Trust would like to apologise for any inconvenience this improvement work may cause.
