East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust celebrated the brilliant work of their support staff during Unsung Heroes Week.
During the week, a series of events were held throughout the Trust including a number of road shows which celebrated and shared the variety of work support staff do across the organisation. The week culminated in a celebration event and award ceremony. At this event people were recognised for their contribution to patient care and the services of the Trust.
Support workers make up around a third of the Trust’s workforce and include roles such as healthcare support workers, porting, catering, housekeepers and administration staff.
Monica Green, Director of Human Recourses said: “I hope that all our support staff realise what an important role they play and how much we value their contribution. In a service as complex as Healthcare every role counts and this group of staff play an incredibly valuable part. They make a real difference to the lives of people we care for. Everyone involved can be really proud of the part they play.”
