Former patient, Nick Robinson together with his brother Geoff and local Elvis tribute Artist Andy T. King, have presented the Intensive Care unit at Conquest Hospital with a cheque for £1,570, to say thanks for the care Nick received while in the unit.
Earlier this year Nick was admitted to the unit with life threatening injuries following an accident which left him trapped under a mini-digger. Nick made a remarkable recovery in a short space of time and has returned to the Intensive Care Unit to say thank you to the staff that helped save his life.
Nick and his wife Nicola organised a charity event at The Cutter pub in Hastings which featured, local Elvis tribute artist Andy T. King. Thanks to the generosity of his friends and local businesses, they raised £1,570 which has been donated to the Intensive Care Unit.
Natalie Stevens, Senior Sister for the Critical Care Follow up Rehabilitation Clinic said: “We would like to thank Nick and his family and friends for raising this money. It will be put towards improving the care and facilities that we can offer to patients and their families. We would like to say how great it is to see Nick back to normality and a big thank you to all involved with raising this money”.
