Lead Pharmacists Janki Patel and Iwona Ward have won a Staff Award for their clinical practice and leadership at the Trust.
Through their work the Trust has been nationally recognised for its high standards of clinical practice with regard to the expensive blood product Immunoglobulin. Chairman David Clayton-Smith presented Janki Patel and Iwona Ward with their certificates.
Jonathon Palmer, Clinical Pharmacy Manager who nominated them said: “Janki and Iwona have been working together with consultants on ensuring that Immunoglobulin, an expensive blood product, is managed within the trust in accordance with the high standards of clinical practice. Both Janki and Iwona have showed exceptional leadership at different levels within the organisation, making sure that staff are aware of their responsibilities. This has resulted in the Trust being shown as an extremely high achiever in all 8 domains of the national database. This shows the trust has a very strong handle on utilising this expensive and scarce resource in the most effective and beneficial way for patients.”
“The result of this has a wide impact in ensuring that the trust plays its part in ensuring that all patients can maintain access to the often lifesaving but sometimes scarce treatment. Both Lead Pharmacists should be very proud of their achievement.”
