Sons raise money to thank ward for their dad’s care

Sons, Geoff and Andy Wallbank have donated £430 to James Ward at Conquest Hospital, to thank them for caring for their dad, Brian Wallbank. Brian spent nine weeks on the ward in 2016 and they described the care he received as “wonderful”.

Geoff and Andy raised the money by taking part in a sponsored assault course over four gruelling kilometres and many daunting obstacles. They came to the ward, along with their dad, to present a cheque and a huge cake to the nursing staff, as a mark of their appreciation.

Sharon Grain, James Ward/CCU Ward Matron said: “We would like to thank Geoff and Andy for their donation. It was good to see Brian looking so well. The money has helped to purchase a ‘Ready bed’, to enable relatives of sick patients to stay on the ward overnight.”
