Local hotel gives gift to new mothers

A local hotel has presented ‘afternoon tea for two’ gift tokens to Midwives at Eastbourne Midwifery Unit, for new mothers to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Eastbourne Midwifery Unit Matron, Marie Foreman said: “It was a lovely gesture from The View Hotel to donate these gift tokens for our new mothers. On behalf of our new mothers, we would like to thank them for their generosity. I know they were all well received by the women would had recently given birth in our Midwifery Unit. It helped add to the birthing experience on our Midwifery unit which offers a comfortable, relaxed and low-tech environment for women to give birth, which so many find provides a positive birthing experience. We would wish to encourage more women who meet the low-risk criteria, to choose to give birth at Eastbourne Midwifery Unit.”

Tina Reed, from The View Hotel said: “At The View Hotel we believe it’s important to reach out and thank our local community. This is one of the gifts we donated as part of our ‘Random Acts of Kindness day’ and who better to start with than the new (or new again) Mums and Dads at Eastbourne District General Hospital. For us, it’s about giving back and this is a small gesture of thanks.”
