The Outpatients team at Conquest Hospital have raised £302.60 for the Stand up to Cancer charity, by holding a fundraising event by selling cakes they had baked.
Members of the team all baked cakes which were judged in true ‘Great British Bake Off’ style, but not by Paul and Prue but by Vikki Carruth, Director of Nursing and Jonathan Reid, Director of Finance.
The star baker accolade was awarded to Healthcare Assistant, Audrey Haffenden, for her strawberry and chocolate cake. Second prize went to Healthcare Assistant, Carol Harris for her chocolate cake, and third prize went to Healthcare Assistant, Carol Dance for her St. Clements cupcakes.
Outpatient Sister, Nida Castro said: “Many thanks to Staff Nurse, Louise Bowles, for organising the ‘Bake Off’ and to everybody who supported the event, particularly the talented cake bakers in the department.”
