The Head Girl at Ratton School, Lily Dixon, on behalf of the school, presented a donation of £1,700 to the Pevensey Day Unit at Eastbourne DGH, which will go towards funding a Scalp Cooler which helps patients retain their hair while having chemotherapy treatment.
The Pevensey Day Unit was Ratton School’s designated charity of the year. Students from the school raised money through doing a sponsored haircut, and donating their hair to the Little Princess Charity, so it can be used to make wigs, as well as other fundraising events.
Matron Clare Evans, Pevensey Day Unit said: “On behalf of Pevensey Day Unit’s patients and staff we would like to thank the students of Ratton School for their donation. The money will go towards a Scalp Cooler which helps some patients minimise hair loss during chemotherapy treatment.”
