Janki Patel, Lead Pharmacist who nominated Jayne said: “Jayne has worked incredibly hard in transforming the palliative care service. There has been a lot of work to do trust wide. She works well with her colleagues in service developments and improving the services for all the users. The reason Jayne is an unsung hero is that she does all of this in a calm manner. I have never seen her stressed. She always takes the time to listen to everyone around and engages with the team very well. Jayne has demonstrated all the trust values in the work that she does. This has then allowed for improvement and development with our end of life care at ESHT.”

The supportive and palliative care service offers a multidisciplinary approach to specialised medical and nursing care for people with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on providing relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress at any stage of illness.

Jayne was presented with her award by Trust Chairman, David Clayton-Smith.
