Support group for people with Glaucoma

A support group for people with the eye condition glaucoma, is being held on Wednesday 26th September 2018 at 5.00pm in the Lecture Theatre, Education Centre at Eastbourne DGH, Kings Drive, Eastbourne, BN21 2UD.

Glaucoma is a condition which can affect mainly the peripheral vision, and is frequently related to a build-up of pressure within the eye. It is often picked up by local optometrists and regular eye tests are recommended.

A talk will be given by Mr Hickman Casey, a glaucoma specialist consultant, on the condition and the new advances in the treatment of glaucoma. A spokesperson from the International Glaucoma association will also talk about techniques to improve the instillation of eye drops and the support they can offer.

Lorraine Manklow, Deputy Head Orthoptist said: “We are holding this event to offer help and advice for those people with the eye condition glaucoma. We hope a lot of people can attend.”
