The Friends of Eastbourne Hospital have donated eight blood pressure monitors and a bladder scanner to the Litlington Admission’s Lounge and Post-op day case ward, and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), at Eastbourne DGH.
Linda Law, Sister on Litlington Ward said: “All the staff on the ward would like to thank the Friends for their very generous donation. The Friends presented our department with eight blood pressure monitors, as well as a bladder scanner to be shared with PACU. Having the Friends support means we feel truly valued, it enhances the working environment, and improves patient care.
“In the last 12 months 6,224 patients were admitted to our department, and 3,543 patients returned to be discharged as day cases, an awful lot of blood pressures were taken. The new monitors are quick and easy to use, and feedback from patients is positive.”
Harry Walmsley, Chairman Friends of Eastbourne Hospitals said: “We are pleased to be able to provide this new equipment, which will benefit the patients. This is made possible thanks to the generosity of local people donating money to the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital.”
