Healthcare Assistant retires after 40 years’ NHS service

Pevensey Ward Healthcare Assistant, Teresita Taruc has retired after 40 years’ service to the NHS in Eastbourne.

Teresita has worked for most of her career at Eastbourne DGH having started in 1978 with a brief four year period working at, the now demolished, St Mary’s Hospital.

Pevensey Ward Matron, Art Lazaro said: “We wanted to mark Tessie’s achievement of 40 years’ service to the NHS. She has been a valuable member of our ward team and will be missed. I and the rest of the team wish her every happiness in her well-deserved retirement.”

Teresita was presented with a certificate and gifts from her colleagues and plans to join the Trust’s Temporary Workforce at some point next year.
