Occupational Therapist Giles Smith has won an Employee of the month award for his endeavour to go the extra mile to support timely and effective discharges.
Donato Tallo, Hospital Intervention Team, who nominated Giles, said: “Giles is a friendly and professional colleague and as well as being a pleasure to work with, he always goes the extra mile for patients he has input with. Through his good humour and kind approach Giles always creates an enjoyable working atmosphere.
“Working in the Hospital Intervention Team based in the Emergency Department, CDU and AMU where the turnover of patients, caseloads and work is fast paced and often stressful, Giles always ensures he is thorough and detailed in all of his input with patients. Giles never hesitates to go the extra mile if necessary to support timely and effective discharges and where necessary facilitates admissions in an appropriate manner. Giles is very conscientious and demonstrates the values of the trust in his work.”
Giles was presented with his award by Trust Chairman, David Clayton-Smith.
