A patient previously cared for on the Critical Care Unit at Eastbourne DGH has returned, with her husband, to thank the doctors and nurses and donate a sofa for the relative’s room.
Sue Harris, spent several weeks in the critical care unit, with her husband Norman, by her bedside. The couple have donated a new sofa for relatives and visitors to use when waiting to see loved ones being cared for on the unit.
Sue and Norman Harris said: “The seating provided for the visitors room comes with our very special thanks to all the team in the Critical Care Unit.”
Critical Care Unit Matron, Sylvia Harris said: “Myself and the critical care team cannot thank Sue and Norman enough. Whilst Sue was a patient in critical care unit, her family spent many an hour sitting in the relative’s room and are fully aware how difficult and tiring it is for people who have a loved one being cared for on the unit. This new sofa will provide comfort for relatives in the future.”
