Special Care Baby Unit nurses Skydive for charity

Ten nurses who work on the Special Care Baby Unit at Conquest Hospital are taking part in a skydive, and are hoping to collectively raise £4,000 for the charity Bliss, which supports sick and premature babies.

Special Care Baby Unit Matron, Wendy Thompsett said: “As the skydive gets closer we are starting to get more apprehensive. It is something none of us have done before. We are doing it together as a team and will be encouraging each other, knowing we are raising money for a great charity that supports sick and premature babies.”

The Special Care Baby Unit team have already undertaken various events including a quiz, cake sale and car boot sale raising in excess of £600 already. Their next event is a quiz at the Fisherman’s Club in Eastbourne (Royal Parade, BN22 7AB) on 12th July at 7.00pm everybody is welcome to come along – £5 per head, teams up to five people with a raffle on the night with prizes donated by local businesses.
