Consultant Cardiologist, Professor Nikhil Patel has been elected Chair of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) Academic Board, with his term of office starting on 1st October for three years.
Dr Fiona Moss, Dean, Royal Society of Medicine, said: “We are delighted to welcome Professor Patel as Chairman of our Academic Board. As a renowned educator he will play an important role in supporting our new educational strategies and developing programmes with the presidents of our specialty Sections.”
Professor Nikhil Patel said: “I am delighted to have been elected to the chair of the Royal Society of Medicine Academic Board. These are exciting times for the Society as we transform the way in which we deliver postgraduate education to the medical community. It is a great opportunity for me to support the Royal Society of Medicine to advance health, through education and innovation, as a leading provider of high-quality continuing postgraduate education and learning to the medical profession.”
The Chairman of the RSM Academic Board is a Trustee of the Society and oversees the network of 50 medical specialty sections.
