Tracy-Anne Mitchell said: “As I was undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer I had an idea to get people wearing bandanas for a day. I asked my friend Ian Gillam to organise the event which took place in local pubs in Hastings and St Leonard’s. We raised money for three charities including the Judy Beard Unit. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care I received from them during my treatment. The Bandana Day was so successful we are planning another fundraiser in the New Year called ‘Bandana Day 2 – the Regrowth’.”

Matron Hayley Bird said: “It’s great to see Tracy-Anne looking so well. The team would like to thank Tracy-Anne and Ian for the money they helped raise with their Bandana Day. The money will go towards equipment to improve patient care and wellbeing whilst they are being treated on the unit.”
