Helen Peregrine, Head Optometrist has won the Employee of the Month Award and has been praised for increasing clinic capacity and supporting staff in the Optometry department.

Jane Clark, Dispensing Optician who nominated Helen said: “When Helen was appointed Head Optometrist she had a mountain to climb as the department faced a number of challenges. She has managed to increase clinic capacity across all sites and successfully put together a job plan to enable us to have a greater appeal for Pre-Registrar Optometrists to be part of our team during their training. But more importantly, has boosted morale within the department. I have worked here for over 23 years and I have to say that this is the happiest I have been at work for a number of those years, and it is all down to Helen’s caring, diligent, commitment to the department and Trust.
“Helen rarely has any administration time to achieve all this, so works many days into the evenings to achieve the service that we as a department and Trust should be, and are, proud of. We are very proud of our ‘Head’ and wish her hard work and dedication to be acknowledged and recognised by the Trust.”
