Two new directors have joined the Trust board, Damian Reid as Chief Financial Officer and Richard Milner as Director of Strategy, Improvement and Innovation.

Damian Reid joins the Trust from Bedford Hospital NHS Trust where he was Director of Finance. Damian is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. He started his career in the Ministry of Defence, followed by a series of appointments in the public sector and at EC Harris and Compass Group. Damian is an experienced Finance Director having held a number of senior positions within national, regional and local NHS organisations, including acute and community providers. Damian’s portfolio at ESHT includes finance, procurement and digital.
Richard Milner joins the Trust having held senior positions at several NHS Trusts in London covering community, mental health and the acute sector. He has worked predominantly in operations and service improvement, and brings his experience of leading transformation programmes to improve care for patients. His interests are technology-enabled change and working across organisational boundaries to improve care outcomes. Richard began his career working for a US-based strategy consultancy before joining the NHS on the Gateway to Leadership programme.

We have seen a great deal of improvement over the last three years culminating in a Good CQC rating earlier this year and we are now planning for the £500m investment that has now been earmarked to ESHT over the next decade, through our ‘Building for the Future’ programme. Damian and Richard bring a broad range of knowledge and skills to the board which will be pivotal as we work together with our partners in the Sussex wide Integrated Care System to deliver improve health and wellbeing outcomes for local people.”
