Orlando Fulgencio who is a Frailty Unit Nurse at Eastbourne DGH was clapped and cheered by colleagues and friends as he left critical care after 32 days, to continue his recovery from Covid-19 on Jevington ward, a ward he used to work on.
Orlando Fulgencio said: “I would like to thank the doctors and nurses and everyone who has helped look after me in hospital, especially the Critical Care team.”
Critical Care Matron, Philippa Hartland said: “It was fantastic to see Orlando leave the unit after 32 days being treated for Covid-19. He has had a tough battle and made a remarkable recovery. Seeing every patient recover from this virus is special but it is even more special when it is one of our own nurses.”
