Joe Chadwick-Bell, Chief Executive said: “It was a real pleasure to welcome our local MP, Sally-Ann Hart, to Conquest Hospital. I thanked her for her role in campaigning for the Trust to be one of the 40, across the country, to get funding for redevelopment. She was keen to hear about our plans for this winter and I was able to explain to her about our commitment to continue to treat non Covid patients who need elective and emergency care as well as those patients requiring treatment for Covid. It was also an opportunity to highlight the measures we have in place to keep everyone safe this winter. I know she was particularly impressed with the dedication and commitment of everyone to provide high quality care to our patients.”

Sally-Ann Hart, MP for Hastings and Rye, said: “Visiting the Conquest and seeing the commitment, care and bravery of our NHS staff to gear up for the second wave of coronavirus and look after us is humbling. They risk themselves on ‘the front line’ for our benefit. We owe it to them to do whatever we can to ensure they are protected and that the NHS is not overwhelmed.”
