Last week the arrival of a Health Spaces modular unit gave us a first look at what will become a much-needed additional space for staff at our Emergency Department at Conquest Hospital.
The bespoke, modular extension for our Emergency Department was manufactured off-site and arrived 95% complete – even the sinks were already attached to the walls – causing minimal disruption for staff and patients.

The new space will provide staff in our busy Emergency Department with space to change before and after their shifts, as well as a dedicated area to rest, eat and drink on their breaks while at work.
Jonathan Dixon, Construction Director at Health Spaces, said: “The Health Spaces team have worked closely with the Trust’s estates and clinical teams to understand the challenge. Our bespoke fast-track modular solution ensures for a fast build with minimal disruption to the Trust’s operations and patient flow.”
Health Spaces are a healthcare construction company dedicated to NHS fast-track design and build. The modular units will now follow a short installation process ready for a swift handover to the Trust.
