The Trust welcomed over 190 Trainee doctors; these include Foundation Year 1 (FY1), which will be their very first job after completing their medical degrees, Foundation Year 2 (FY2), Core Trainees, and other Speciality Trainees in a range of professions across both Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne DGH.
The doctors in training at Foundation level for example, complete three different four-month rotations or placements per year in medical and surgical specialties, to allow for the development of a range of clinical and non-clinical skills.
Mike Dickens, Medical Education Manager said, “The Trust welcomed our new intake of doctors in training on the 3 August. This included doctors at Foundation and Core levels. These doctors received their main and local inductions and there will be additional induction events in September for a group of Paediatric doctors, as well as another event in October for Higher Specialty doctors in training from across various specialties. I hope you’ll join me in making our new doctors feel welcome and fully supported as they undertake their important work alongside us all, as we provide the best possible care to our patients.”
