Huge success recruiting to the MIDI study

Our radiology and research teams have continued their success recruiting to the MIDI study and have passed the 2000th patient (2189). This clinical research study aims “to develop and test an AI tool that can identify MR head abnormalities using routine outpatient as well as dedicated research scans.”

Our clinical research team were selected to deliver this study by the team at Kings College, London and we are currently the third highest recruiting trust nationally.

Jo-Anne Taylor, head of clinical research said: “As always this involved a huge amount of collaboration between services getting this study set up in August last year. The recruitment has continued to go from strength to strength and we are very fortunate to have such an engaged consultant in Dr David Sallomi. He has been hugely supportive and passionate with giving our patients the opportunity to participate in clinical research.”

Our clinical research team now have over 35 studies actively recruiting at the trust across a variety of specialities and would encourage any clinicians looking to support or deliver a trial to get in touch particularly if they are NIHR portfolio adopted.
