East Sussex MSK Community Partnership launches

This week saw the launch of a new provider partnership for community Musculoskeletal (MSK) services in East Sussex.

The change is part of a wider transformation of MSK services across the entirety of the Sussex system, led by NHS Sussex, to deliver consistently high quality services across in line with the Sussex five-year health and care strategy Improving Lives Together.

In East Sussex, East Sussex Healthcare Trust have come together with Horder Healthcare to deliver care as a new provider partnership – East Sussex MSK Community Partnership (ESMSK). This new partnership sees the trust and Horder Healthcare working collaboratively, jointly planning and providing flexible and responsive MSK care to our local communities.

Matthew Carr, the newly appointed ESMSK Partnership Director, said:

“The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and Horder Healthcare have a wealth of experience in delivering MSK services to the communities of East Sussex. This new partnership will allow colleagues from both teams to come together, drawing the best from both organisations in planning future East Sussex MSK services.

“Key priorities for our partnership will focus on enhancing integration of existing teams and services to deliver better patient experience, proactively planning to address known health inequalities impacting our patients and strengthening our focus on demonstrating our impact in helping people live good quality lives. The use of digital innovation to support greater self-management and improve health confidence will also be a priority”.

Care will continue to be provided through a range of clinical and support roles, including physiotherapists, Advanced Practitioners, care coordinators, medical consultants, and surgeons.
