As we approach the National Day for Staff Networks on 14 May 2025, we’re pleased to take a moment to celebrate the incredible contribution of our staff networks in making our trust a more inclusive, supportive place to work.
We’re especially proud to welcome Soumya Sononey as the new Chair of our Multicultural Network, with Mina Wareham stepping into the role of Vice Chair. Both bring passion, insight and lived experience that will help shape the network’s future as a safe and empowering space for colleagues from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
Soumya shares: “I’m really excited to take on the role of Chair and to help grow a space where colleagues feel they truly belong. The Multicultural Network is about celebrating our diversity and having open, honest conversations about race, ethnicity and inclusion at work. I’m looking forward to listening, learning and working together to bring positive change.”
Soumya and Mina will be working with members to refresh priorities for the year ahead — with a focus on representation, allyship and amplifying voices across the trust.
Our Multicultural Network is one of our six active networks, alongside:
- Faith and Belief Network
- DisAbility Network
- LGBTQIA+ Network
- Women’s NetworkNeurodivergent Network (launched in March 2025)
Steve Aumayer, Chief People Officer, said: “We’d like to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt thank you to all our network chairs and co-chairs. Your dedication, energy and leadership – alongside busy day jobs – are what make our networks possible. Your work plays a vital role in creating a culture where all colleagues feel heard, valued and supported.”
