JCR team show their Christmas spirit

The Joint Community Rehabilitation (JCR) team, have been collecting gifts to give to Jack’s Christmas Stocking, a local charity set up in memory of Jack Jeffreys. This initiative collects gifts for children who will be spending Christmas in hospital, including those at Conquest Hospital.

Tracy Palmer, Team Lead said: “The JCR team are a warm, welcoming team of Clinicians, Associate Practitioners and Rehab Support Workers who love working together to help people get back on their feet in the comfort of their own homes.

“We’re all about making life a little easier for our patients, whether that means supporting a smooth return home after a hospital stay, preventing unnecessary admissions, or being there for those with palliative or end-of-life needs. We also work closely with people living with long-term conditions, mental health challenges, and frailty. Every day, we aim to provide rehabilitation that makes a real difference and the kind words we receive from patients, families, and carers remind us why we do what we do.

“Our team were eager to support this charity again because we truly understand how difficult it can be to spend time in hospital, especially during the festive season. Being away from home and loved ones at such a special time of year can feel lonely, and we know that even small gestures can make a big difference.”

Michelle Brazier, Team Lead Occupational Therapist, seen in the photo holding the box and who arranged the collection, said: “I wanted to support this as Jack Jeffreys was the child of a family friend and it’s lovely to honour his memory by providing toys for young people in hospital. Our team were keen to get involved and have been very generous with their donations.”

The team collected around 75 presents for children 0 to 16 years of age.
