A new kitchen has opened at Bexhill Irvine Unit, thanks to the generosity of the League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital.

The new kitchen is conveniently located beneath the Irvine Unit, meaning patient food and crockery no longer have to be transported, three times a day, from the kitchen in the main Bexhill Hospital building at the top of the hill, saving time and effort.
Russ Sherry, Facilities manager, Hotel Services said: “This new facility will significantly improve how we provide food for our patients at the Irvine Unit. By preparing meals on-site, our catering team will no longer need to transport food and crockery up and down the hill three times a day, enabling a smoother, safer and more efficient service for everyone.

“Our heartfelt thanks go to the League of Friends of Bexhill Hospital for helping us bring this development to life. Their continued commitment to supporting patient care in our community is deeply appreciated.
“Thank you to everyone involved for making this project a reality.”
