ESHT Digital visit East Sussex College to promote NHS T-Levels

Members of the Trust’s Digital team recently visited East Sussex College in Eastbourne to speak to the students about the T-Levels that are available within the Digital Team.

T-Levels are two-year, technical qualifications for 16-19 year olds in England, designed with employers to provide industry-specific skills.

Andy Bissenden, Associate Director, Digital and Suzanne Gooch, Digital Service Manager gave the students, who were mainly studying Computer Studies or Business, an overview of the Trust as a whole and of the different areas that the T Levels would be in, which includes:

  • Clint Devices Engineers
  • Digital Asset Analysts
  • Microsoft 365 Developers
  • Service Desk Analysts

Following the session ESHT Digital colleague Sophia said: “It was a great opportunity to speak to the T-Level students about my journey with ESHT within Digital. I talked about how my passion for technology and helping others has helped shape my journey from a Healthcare Assistant, to Service Desk Analyst, which led me to the Client Devices role I’m in today. If sharing my experience helps inspire at least one person, even just a little bit that’ll be amazing.”

Suzanne said: “With the importance of Digital within the NHS continuing to grow, we want to encourage more young people locally to consider it as a career choice. Digital colleagues have built good working relationships with East Sussex College through collaboration on other projects and so we have taken the opportunity to build on that and hope that our visit to the College is the first step in offering a number of placements within ESHT Digital to T-level students.”
