Response to recent incident in Conquest hospital car park

You may have seen social media posts referring to a recent security incident on one of our sites. We want to reassure staff and our communities that the Trust is fully aware of the situation and we have increased security presence since the incident. We are also reviewing measures to support staff safety and we are in regular communication with the our local neighbourhood policing team,  who have advised they will be increasing their patrols around the area.

We are aware that members of the public have expressed a wish to assist. While the trust genuinely appreciates the instinct of our community to rally around our staff, the presence of additional people who have not been appropriately screened or trained in line with our security team’s way of working could potentially raise the risk of harm to our staff rather than reduce it.

If you are visiting our site for treatment or to visit a patient, please remain vigilant, especially around individuals who appear distressed or agitated. If you see anything that causes you concern, please let one of our official security team know and they will manage the issue appropriately.
