Congratulations to the Newington Ward team at Conquest Hospital, with special recognition for Kathy Clifford, for winning the Trust’s Hero of the Month award.
The ward was nominated for their outstanding care and compassion, after receiving praise from a member of the public. Following the recent passing of their mum on the ward, the family praised staff and doctors for the exceptional support they provided during her final days, describing them as kind, respectful and deeply empathetic.
In particular, Kathy Clifford was highlighted for her patience, warmth and humanity. The family said her compassionate approach and the way she continued to speak to their mum in her final days gave them great comfort and reassurance at an incredibly difficult time. The ward was presented the award by Chief Executive Jayne Black.
