To mark NHS Patient Experience Week, we are inviting patients, carers, families and staff to help shape our new Patient Experience and Engagement Strategy.
The strategy is about making sure people’s voices are heard and listened to. It will focus on involving patients and those close to them in decisions about their care, and on using real experiences to improve services across the Trust.
By listening more closely to what matters to our communities, we aim to design and review services in ways that better meet people’s needs. This work supports the NHS 10 Year Health Plan, which highlights the importance of patient feedback and engagement in delivering high‑quality care.
We are also asking our staff to share their views. Many colleagues both deliver care and use NHS services themselves, and their insight is vital to improving how care is provided. At the heart of the new strategy is a commitment to kindness, inclusion and treating everyone with respect, even at challenging times.
Throughout NHS Patient Experience Week, we will be gathering feedback from patients and staff, including through a short staff survey available here:
What people tell us will directly shape the strategy and help us continue improving care for our local communities.
