Percutaneous Biliary Drainage or PTC

Now it is possible to insert a fine plastic drainage tube, called a catheter, through the skin using only a tiny incision, into the obstructed bile duct to allow the bile to drain externally for a while. This procedure is called Percutaneous, (meaning through the skin), biliary drainage.
