Using the information we have regarding your PSA blood test, MRI scan and DRE (digital rectal examination) you are being offered a prostate biopsy procedure. Biopsies of the prostate are advised when there is a suspicion of prostate cancer. Small tissue samples can be taken from the prostate and examined under a microscope for the presence of cancer.
